Kanha Makhan Millennium School, Vrindavan hosted the chess and carroom competition to provide a platform to its students to improve their logical thinking, analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills. The young budding students from Grades 3 to 5 participated in the competition on 9th May 2023. As the day of the Chess and Carroom tournament approached, highly enthusiastic students were all geared up to beat their opponents in nail-biting matches. The students were categorized into 2 groups Grade III-V (boys) and Grade III-V (girls) for Chess and 1 group for Carroom. The students participated with great enthusiasm and showed their focus, ability to strategize and think ahead through their moves. The student’s ability to make strategic openings, choose appropriate tactics and visualize endgames was highly appreciative. In the boy’s category, Kirat of Grade V bagged the first prize followed by Bhav Arora of Grade V runner up. In girl’s category Cauvery R. Lalwani of Grade IV emerged victorious followed by Drishti Goyal of Grade IV runner up. In Carroom, Hardik Khatri of Grade V bagged first prize followed by Manvi Singh of Grade IV runner up. It was indeed quite heart-warming to see the children playing their moves like stalwarts with rapt concentration and collected demeanour.
